ZHIVA was founded by Sasha Tarasova — a force of life. Daring, ambitious, and resilient, Sasha left an oil-and-gas town in Siberia at fifteen, alone, to chase a future with no ceiling. That vision became the engine for everything that followed: a life and a career built in America from the ground up, with family on the other side of the world.
The road wasn't soft. Building something of your own rarely is. Most recently, Sasha lost her mother in a tragic accident — and turned the hardest chapter of her life into a creative outlet, and a kind of survival. She didn't hide it. She honored it. That is where ZHIVA was born: in the decision to embrace the toughest moments as the journey itself.
We treasure pieces that survived decades, generations, and their past owners — to take on new meaning, and become ours.
That's the thread between the person and the jewelry. Antique pieces survive their owners, their eras, their near-misses — and come through still beautiful, still charged. So do the people who wear them. ZHIVA exists for that person: unapologetically bold, with a confidence you can feel in the room, your worth seen before you say a word.
